Welcome

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website!

In my welcome, I aim to give you an insight to what makes our school a wonderful place to be part of.

Willaston Church of England Primary School is a place where every child has the opportunity to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. Collectively, we aim to foster a compassionate and respectful environment for our children to flourish in their own unique ways. As a Church of England school, our Christian ethos resonates in everything we do. In-line with our school vision, we are committed to quality learning in a positive and happy Christian atmosphere, where everyone within the school community is valued as an individual.

A place where we expect those within our school community to, ‘Treat others as you want them to treat you’ (Matthew 7: 12-14).

As a Church of England School, we work in close collaboration with the Chester Diocesan Board of Education. We also pride ourselves with close links to our local church, Christ Church. We are blessed that we continue to strengthen these relationships.

We are also committed to providing a high-quality education that equips our pupils with the knowledge, skills, and character they need to succeed in life. We believe that education should go beyond academics; it should also develop well-rounded individuals who are compassionate, responsible, and engaged citizens. Our recent ‘outstanding’ Ofsted report in February 2024, acknowledged the quality of our provision, and the strong Christian relationships that enable every individual to flourish and grow.

They found that:

‘Pupils are excited to come into school each day. They follow the school’s vision, to treat others as they themselves want to be treated, remarkably well. Pupils are celebrated for their individuality. This helps them to feel happy.’

‘Pupils treat each other with kindness and respect. They are polite, friendly and eager to converse with adults.’

‘The way that the school develops pupils’ character is praiseworthy. Pupils pride themselves on making everyone feel welcome in their school, regardless of any differences that they may have.’

These are just a small number of quotes that encapsulate the quality of our provision, and the caring and nurturing environment we create for everyone.  I encourage you to explore our website to learn more about our curriculum, extracurricular activities, and the Christian life of our school.

We are always delighted to welcome visitors, and if you are a prospective parent or carer, please feel free to ring to arrange a time to visit. We would be delighted to show you around, so that you can see for yourself, the warm and inclusive Christian environment we have created, as well as gaining a fuller picture of the rich, varied and creative curriculum we provide.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school!

Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Willaston CE Primary School children with SEND are entitled to a holistic supportive education that is appropriate and tailored to meet their individual needs.

We ensure that every child is supported to achieve, despite any difficulty or disability they may have, at a level and a pace that is appropriate to their abilities. All pupils have access to the school curriculum and school activities no matter what their needs.

We provide an environment in which all children’s contributions are considered and valued. We work in partnership with parents and carers. This will enable children to achieve their best, improve and support their independence and empower them to become confident individuals living fulfilling lives.
